Once again, RL rears it's ugly head... but this time, it's had a home makeover and is just more tolerable now.  The functionality is there.  Just some more minor features, and I can start skinning what $DAYJOB asked for.

They're doing it to themselves...

[livejournal.com profile] psudomanitou and [livejournal.com profile] prismo pointed to an article on the Recording Industry vs The People blog, and out of curiosity I poked around.  The main page begat an index of legal documentation on various lawsuits folks decided to fight against.  In pouring some of the documents, and applying some sound logic, I have to say...

...the RIAA is asking to have their butts reamed with a I-beam, then having said butts handed to them.

Why?  They're going about it the wrong way.  It's like they took all the lawyers that failed the bar exam and hoped that all of them combined will produce one good one.  They failed to perform proper proceedure on everything relating to legal documentation -- and all the defending lawyers are catching them.  They're also proving them to boot, giving documentation and whatnot.  In one case, the amount of documentation done by the RIAA lawyers compared to the defendant's lawyers is equal to a short newsletter found on a commuter train compared to Webster's Unabridged Dictonary.

In essence, I expect 99% of all the lawsuits being fought against to be found in favor of the defendant.  I wouldn't be suprized if the RIAA gets countersued for being so dumb -- and the RIAA's ordered to pay.
